Day 2
Lunchtime arrival in Malindi, where you will be met and transferred to the Tropical
Village Hotel. Accommodation here for 4 nights including all meals plus selected
activities and drinks. Recreation includes windsurfing (non-professional), aerobics,
Latin American Dance classes, table tennis, archery, evening entertainment and
a discotheque. Professional windsurfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, canoeing and
big game fishing are offered as extras.
Day 6
Early this morning you will be collected from the beach resort by your driver/guide
and proceed towards Tsavo East National Park. After +- 2 hours you will reach
the park gates. Enjoy a game drive (+- 3 hours) en route to Galdessa Camp, arriving
in time for lunch. In the afternoon a walking safari along the Galana River. Spend
2 nights here including all meals and game viewing activities.
Day 7
Early morning game drive or walk followed by breakfast at the camp.
Relax until lunch. Afternoon game drive or walk. Enjoy sunset from
the top of the hill overlooking the Yatta Plateau.
Day 8
Breakfast at camp and depart for Malindi airport in time for your
afternoon flight on Kenya Airways to Johannesburg via Nairobi.

Galdessa Camp, Kenya
Galdessa is a small, exclusive, semi-tented camp located in the middle of Kenya’s
largest park, Tsavo East National Reserve. The lodge is comprised of 8 bandas
and 2 lodges (communal areas) all of which face the Galana River and the Yatta
Plateau.
The focus here is on nature tourism with walking and night drives available. Apart
from an abundance of riverine game (hippo, crocodile and waterbuck to name a few)
many elephant are found in the area. Bush game includes lesser kudu, gerenuk,
kongoni, dik-dik, buffalo, impala, giraffe and zebra. All of the main predators
are also present. Galdessa is in the middle of Africa’s largest unfenced
population of black rhino – 51, and they are often seen on foot whilst out
walking.
The bandas are semi-tented bungalows with a thatched roof, timber and stone floors
and canvas walls. En suite bathrooms are spacious, with running water except for
the shower, which is a romantic safari shower in a canvas container, heated on
demand. All the beds are camp-made with timber from the park and are very large
for extra comfort.
Tropical Beach Village (Planhotel Beach Resort), Kenya
Forming part of the Planhotel Beach Resort, on the beautiful beach of Casuarina
just a few minutes away from the centre of Malindi, the Tropical Village Hotel
offers an African village style atmosphere. The 114 rooms are built in a typical
‘Masai manyatta’ in a semi circle, in the luxurious tropical gardens.
Room features include king size beds, a veranda or terrace, ceiling fans, air
conditioning, bathroom with shower, minibar, telephone and room safe. Guests have
the choice of 2 restaurants and 4 bars. The beach area is restricted for Planhotel
hotel guests only with sun beds, beach towels and beach umbrellas. Amenities include
a swimming pool and hotel shops.
